Direct Lithium Extraction from geothermal brines

Pioneering industry-leading Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology called ILiAD and developing the most advanced project on the Salton Sea, California, to produce battery-grade lithium hydroxide from geothermal brines.

  • EnergySource Minerals’ Project ATLiS is a shovel-ready, permitted lithium extraction project that will produce 20,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide annually from brine flow at an existing 55MW geothermal power plant at the Salton Sea.

  • Harnessing EnergySource Minerals’ proprietary DLE technology, ILiAD, ATLiS is positioned to be one of the lowest-cost lithium sources globally for the U.S. battery market.

  • EnergySource Minerals has secured a conditional commitment of a $1.36 billion project finance loan to Project ATLiS from the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Dominance Financing.

  • Beyond Project ATLiS, ILiAD has the potential to unlock a range of brine resources globally and is being piloted with several major natural resource companies, including at Rio Tinto's Sal de Vida site in Catamarca, Argentina.
